Kristen Ronning is a horn player based in Iowa City, where she is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Iowa while maintaining an active performing and teaching career throughout the Midwest.
A dedicated educator, Kristen serves as the Teaching Artist of Horn at Drake University and St. Ambrose University. She also teaches through West Music in Coralville and the Quad City Symphony’s Private Lesson Program, in addition to maintaining her own private studio.
She has performed with numerous orchestras, including the Des Moines Symphony, Quad City Symphony, Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, Adrian Symphony Orchestra, and Civic Orchestra of Chicago. As a soloist, Kristen has been featured with the Des Moines Metro Concert Band, Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra, and Wheaton Municipal Band. In addition to her classical work, Kristen has performed with popular touring acts such as Mannheim Steamroller and the Texas Tenors.
