Kristen Ronning is a horn player based in Iowa City, where she is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Iowa while maintaining an active performing and teaching career throughout the Midwest.

A dedicated educator, Kristen is the Teaching Artist of Horn at Drake University and St. Ambrose University, Instructor of High Brass at Culver-Stockton College, and teaches through West Music in Coralville and the Quad City Symphony’s Private Lesson Program, in addition to her private studio.

She has performed with numerous orchestras, including the Quad City Symphony, Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, Adrian Symphony Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, Kristen has been featured with the Des Moines Metro Concert Band, Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra, and Wheaton Municipal Band. In addition to her classical work, Kristen has performed with popular touring acts such as Mannheim Steamroller and the Texas Tenors.

Before moving to Iowa, Kristen earned her BM in Horn Performance from Bowling Green State University and her MM in Orchestral Studies from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, where she studied with Dr. Andrew Pelletier and Jon Boen, respectively.
